hello friends of the jungalow! i’m satsuki shibuya
& will be keeping you company here today while justina is busily getting ready for her big day! since meeting her, i am constantly inspired visually by her constant vigor towards colors, patterns, greens & everything in between, but also by her worldly views on life & the importance of keeping an open mind towards humanity. speaking of which, today, i would like to share with you a little dish that all (well, i would say most little japanese boys & girls) moms have made many a time & for me conjure up moments of laughter in my belly & my heart. hopefully you can share this simple dish with a loved one over some wonderful conversations.
are you ready? here we go!
+ vegetables (anything you like or left over in your kitchen). my staples usually are: onion, some kind of bell pepper, mushroom/shimeji. broccoli & other hard vegetables seem to work as well
+ meat/tofu (i used apple chicken sausage in this version, but feel free to experiment with different kinds of protein)
+ 2~3 Tbsp ketchup (or depends on ketchup-y you like it to taste)
+ salt & pepper
+ dried garlic
+ dried basil
