8/11/14DIY hexagon hanging planter

Processed with VSCOcam with f2 preset

Seeing planters in everything is my jam, and when I came across this bird feeder at Lowe’s I was like, yup! Perfect hexagonal hanging planter for the jungalow! It’s not so much a DIY as a repurposed type of deal…which means it’s SUPER easy to do… IMG_1368

You just get the bird feeder and follow the simple assembly instructions which involves basically putting on the chain… And then planting her up with some of your favorite plants…

I just take the whole thing into the shower when I want to water the plants. And this would work indoors and outdoors, and there are small holes in the bottom so there is even built-in drainage. Small plants and/or plants with shallow roots will work best since the tray is not super deep.

I also thought about painting the planter–would look amazing in all kinds of bright colors, but for now I’m kinda digging the natural color of the cedar. Easy peasy–and would also make a great gift, yes?
